1301) Which tertiary institutions in Hong Kong are connected to the net?
All seven of them are. They are :-
1. The University of Hong Kong (HKU);
2. Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK);
3. Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST);
4. Hong Kong Polytechnics University (formerly Hong Kong Polytechnics)
(HKPU);
5. City University of Hong Kong (formerly Hong Kong City Polytechnics)
(CityU);
6. Hong Kong Baptist University (formerly Hong Kong Baptist College)
(HKBU); and
7. Lingnan College (LC).
They are all networked together by T1 (1.544M bps) link to form HARNET
(Hongkong Academic and Research NETWork). They all share the T1 HARNET
Internet link to the NASA location in Mountain View, California. They agree
to have the link installed in CUHK, which also provides the resource to
manage the link.
