Set the SCSI ID so that there are no duplications between SCSI
devices on the SCSI bus.
The priority of SCSI bus use in ARBITRATION phase is determined by
SCSI ID as follows:
7>6>5>4>3>2>1>0>15>14>13>12>11>10>9>8

Spindle motor control
A SHORT* Auto Start on power up
OPEN Controlled by START/STOP UNIT command
Set how to control the starting HDD spindle motor. This setting only
determines the operation mode when the power supply is turned on or
the microcode is downloaded.
In both modes, stopping or restating the spindle motor can be
controlled by specifying the START/STOP UNIT command.
SCSI Bus Parity checking

Offline Self-diagnostics
------------------------
D SHORT* Diagnostic Mode
OPEN Normal Operation
Setting terminals CN5-6 are used to set starting/stopping the HDD
self-diagnostics. The offline self-diagnostics can test the normality
of the HDD controller function and the basic read/write operation,
the setting terminals must be open.
Terminal Connector CN7
----------------------
Spindle Sync I/O pulse. Master & Slave control determining whether to
receive or transmit SPSYNC are set by MODE SELECT command. This
terminal
SY Pin 1 GROUND
Pin 2 SPSYNC
External Reset. This would normally be connected to a momentary
switch which would short pin 3 to ground for the reset of the drive
and SCSI bus. Normally used for debug purposes only.
R SHORT* External reset signal when connected to ground
OPEN No connection
CN7 Pins 5-6 Write protection
-----------------------------
WP SHORT Write operation is disabled
OPEN* Write operation is enabled
CN7 Pins7-8 Termination of SCSI bus (Single-Ended type, 8-bit)
--------------------------------------------------------------
TM SHORT* Enable terminating resistor
OPEN Disable terminating resistor
Setting terminal CN7 7-8 set whether to use the terminating resistor
circuit on the SCSI interface provided for the HDD. The setting
terminals enable the terminating resistor circuit to be connected on
the SCSI interface. Only the HDD of the single-ended type is
provided with the terminating resistor circuit.
CN7 Pins7-8 Termination of SCSI bus (Differential type, 16-bit)
---------------------------------------------------------------
7-8 SHORT* 16-bit SCSI mode setting
OPEN 8-bit SCSI mode setting
Set setting terminal CN7 7-8 enable or disable the 16-bit SCSI mode.
When the 16-bit SCSI mode is enabled, all data bus (DB00 to DB15,
DBP0 to DBP1) can be effective. When the Differential type 16-bit
SCSI HDD is used as 8-bit SCSI device, this setting must be open.

Setting terminals CN10 1-2 and 3-4 set whether to use the terminating
resistor circuit on the SCSI interface provided for the HDD.
The setting terminals enable the terminating resistor circuit to be
connected on the SCSI interface.
CAUTION
This setting is effective when the external operator panel (S6) is
connected and pin A9 (TERM-ON) is open.

The drive will operate in all axis (6 directions).
Installation direction
----------------------
The drive may be installed in one of 6 orientations, that is on any
of its facets. Inclination from vertical should be less than 5*.
Mounting screws
---------------
Either side or underside mounting may be used. Standard drive use M3
screws but some special models and US versions use 6/32 UNC. Screws
should not protrude from the drive frame by more than 3mm or damage
may occur. Mounting Screws: M3 x 5mm#6/32 UNC, M3 x 5mm#6/32 UNC
Frame clearance
---------------
There should be a gap of at least 2.5mm between the drive and the
system mounting frame on all sides to provide for adequate air flow.
Grounding
---------
The M29xx series drives use Magneto-Resistive (MR) heads and
therefore require special handling considerations. Users must ensure
that the DE casing is NEVER shorted to the computer system's Frame or
DC Ground.
