The other day, I saw a power planer of the hand operated (not a table
planer) variety, complete with dust bag and edge guide (Black and Decker).
It was very reasonably priced, on the order of $50.00. My question is,
will this planer be appropriate for occasional, light-duty use? I know
that the reputation of Black and Decker has not been particularly good
in general lately, but I do not intend to use this specific tool continuously
or frequently. There are times when a small portable power planer is just
the right tool, but I hesitate to spend a bunch on one. However, I don't
want a tool that will burn out the first time I use it, or go out of
adjustment all the time, etc.
Thanks for any information on this.
