I see a gift, as I gaze at frolicking bears by the shore,
big and small they are precious with strength that I adore.
They're oblivious to my presence, although they sniff the air,
they turn their heads to look, but just don't seem to care.
I see a gift, that has been provided to teach us how to live,
each has its own personality, but each will share and give.
They joyfully play their games and wrestle to the ground,
it's funny how they act when they think no one's around.
I see a gift, as I watch a mother bear forage for food,
she only takes what she needs in order to feed her brood.
She eats the ripest berries and salmon from the lake,
but doesn't act too greedy, not wasting what she takes.
I see a gift, as three cubs learn to climb a tree,
with their new found claws they start clambering up to see.
The stronger cub climbs faster, excited in its quest,
but the smaller ones are breathless and must stop to take a rest.
I see a gift, that's here to teach us a game of life,
if you pay attention it's simple without strife.
The bears use intuition, instincts deep inside,
they don't ignore their feelings or run away or hide.
I see a gift, that may surprise you from the start,
that something so powerful can easily melt your heart.
And if you study their habits clearly in the light,
you will see a vision and know that bears are right.
I see a gift, that's wild, but is meant to teach and share,
the animal kingdom is generous giving us brother bear.
Despite greater strength, they are peaceful in their way,
here is a powerful source we can learn from everyday.
