Q3.4 Must an Italian citizen abroad pay taxes to the foreigngovernment?

Chiunque percepisca salari e/o abbia possedimenti in USA e' tenuto
a pagare le tasse sia federali che statali. Per le eccezioni
vedere la Q3.2. Se si passa il "substantial presence test"
(vedi istruzioni modulo 1040NR o la pubblicazione 519 dell'IRS)
e' possibile pagare le tasse come "resident", altrimenti si
e' tenuti a pagarle come "non resident". Il primo anno di
residenza e' possibile scegliere di pagare le tasse come "resident".
