13. Where should I focus my lens so I will get everything from some close point to infinity in focus?

At approximately the hyperfocal distance. More precisely, at So = h + f. In this condition the closest point that will be in focus is at half the object distance. (Some authorities use this as the definition of hyperfocal distance.)
