5.4 Helical Scan

    Helical Scan are like your VCR with a rotating head mounted at an
angle writing "swipes" at an angle not parallel to the edge of the
tape.  The tape is moved only slightly between swipes.  Two or so
longitudinal tracks may also be used for fast positioning purposes.
