The number of sectors is determined in either of the following ways:
a. Given the number of bytes/sector:
Example: 332 bytes/sector are required:
Total bytes/track 30,240
Number of sectors = ----------------- = ------ = 91 sec./track
bytes/sector 332
Each track will consist of 90 sectors of 332 bytes each and one
sector of 360 bytes.
Jumper setting:
JP162 (PIN 1-2) JP163 (PIN 13-14) JP163 (PIN 7-8) JP163 (5-6)
256 + 64 + 8 + 4 = 332
b. Given the number of sectors/track:
Example: 51 sectors/track are required:
Total bytes/track 30,240
Bytes/sector = ----------------- = ------ = 592 bytes
Sector/track 51
Each track will consist of 50 sectors of 592 bytes each and one
sector of 640 bytes.
Jumper setting:
JP162 (PIN 3-4) JP163 (PIN 13-14) JP163 (PIN 9-10)
512 + 64 + 16 = 592

At the time of shipment, Drive 1 is selected.
Drive address is valid from 1 to 7. Drive Address 0 is not used.
JP165 Write Protect PCB Rev. 1 or more
---------------------------------------
Pins 7-8 OPEN Write Enable
CLOSED Write Protect
At the time of shipment, "Write Enable" mode is selected.
Write operation of a drive is inhibited by setting a jumper on JP165,
pin 7-8, which condition will generate ATTENTION status upon receiv-
ing of WRITE GATE-N signal.
JP164/JP162 Hard Sector/Soft Sector
------------------------------------
The drive with Hard Sector mode issues SECTOR clock on J1-pin 16 and
J2-pin 2, and with Soft Sector mode does ADDRESS MARK FOUND-N on J1-
pin 16 and J2-pin 2.
"Set Configuration" command takes precedence over this Jumper Setting
function.
PCB Rev. 1, 2

JP164 Pins 9-10 OPEN Soft Sector
Pins 9-10 CLOSED Hard Sector
PCB Rev. 3 or more
------------------
JP162 Pins 9-10 OPEN Soft Sector
Pins 9-10 CLOSED Hard Sector
A drive as shipped is set as "Hard Sector" mode
Terminator Module (TM312 or TM309) and Radial Switch (JP230, pin 1-6)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Each drive in Radial connection of cable B and the last end of the
drives in Daisy Chain connection of cable B should be terminated.
Since a terminator module (TM312 or TM309) and Jumper Sockets on
JP230 are provided to all drives as shipped, remove both of them
except the last drive's ones in case of Daisy Chain connection.
