This is a clarification to the information on registering in a .US domain. It turns out that you can register in the .US domain even if your 'feed' node is NOT on the internet. What you need to do is find some node that IS on the internet that is willing to be an MX FORWARDER to your machine (via a path). This might prove difficult, but it is possible.
