43 Samson and Delilah (1949)

- 'Victor Mature' (qv) won the role of Samson over 'Burt Lancaster' (qv),
who had a bad back and was considered too young. 'Henry Wilcoxson' (qv)
was considered, but thought to be too old.
- Director 'Cecil B. DeMille' (qv) considered 'Betty Hutton' (qv) for the
role of Delilah.
