Italian ice with fresh fruit

Granita di Limone
Lemon Ice

* Ingredients:

2 cups fresh lemon juice

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

* Directions:

Make a simple syrup by bringing the sugar and water to a boil.
Allow to boil until sugar is completely dissolved and liquid is
clear. Let cool. Mix lemon juice and simple syrup together, pour
into a jelly roll pan and place in freezer. Once frozen, coarsely
chop and hold in freezer until ready to serve.

Granita di Mandariano
Tangerine Ice

* Ingredients:

2 cups fresh tangerine juice

1 tbs. lemon juice

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

* Directions:

Follow same directions as for lemon ice.

NOTE: To obtain a creamier granita, break up ice crystals every 15
minutes or so for 3 hours.

Grape clusters
Pineapple
Melon
Strawberries
Orange

* Ingredients:

2 tbs. simple syrup

2 tbs. Aperol (an Italian aperitif; Campari or Fernet Branca may
be substituted)

* Directions:

Cut fruit and arrange on a plate. Top with scoops of granita.
Drizzle mixture of simple syrup and Aperol over top and serve.
