I would suggest the PC hands down over Makita (or any other for that
matter). I have used quite a few of these gadgets and the PC is the
only well designed unit I have used that can stand up to a lot of use.

I have great respect and admiration for Milwaukee quality, but the
designs in some of their tools is quite lacking, e.g. their belt
sanders are very poorly balanced compared to the big PC.

At any rate, the PC speed bloc sander is IMO the best on the market
and well worth the $52 I paid for mine a few years ago from Seven
Corners Ace Hardware (see FWW). I think they are up to $57 or $62
or something like that. Still, well worth every penny.

Makita tools are OK, especially for the money, but they will not
stand up to heavy use. I have NEVER seen them in cabinet shops (and
I have worked in quite a few). That is the best indicator of what
holds up to hard use and which designs work well.
