I don't know if it is the Ryobi belt sander that you are talking
about, but I have a Ryobi BE-321 (???) 3x21 variable speed belt
sander. I have been extremely happy with it. Of the several I handled
(Makita, Ryobi, Porter Cable), it felt the most comfortable in my
hand. (I also have Ryobi RE600 Variable speed plunge router that has
treated me well too, so I am pretty happy overall with their tools.)
A caveat--it is my first belt sander, so I don't have a whole lot of
experience with others. I bought it based on price, "feel", features,
and the my experince with Ryobi tools without a whole lot of
comparison shopping....
