I have the AEG HBSE 75S belt sander and it's everything people say it
is. It's VERY powerful (7.8amp motor) for a 3x21 sander. It has 6
speeds, but the dial is infinitely adjustable. It also has a pretty
efficient dust collector, which makes cleanup a lot easier. It comes
with brackets to use it upside down on the bench, but the surface
isn't very big. It's quiet in a strange kind of way, since it also
has a high pitched sound that sometimes sounds like an F16 at taxi.
It also has a removable graphite pad under the belt, which, when worn,
is easily replaced. I've been wanting to get the sanding frame for
it, which rides on brushes and makes precision sanding easy, but the
cost runs from $80 at Woodworker's Warehouse to $120, and I think I'd
rather spend the money on wood. By the way, the price is about $180.
