I was at Edco, a columbus-based Enco distributer today, and it seems
that Enco has transfered production of its 6" jointer to a new chinese
manufacturer, with much higher quality steel castings, and a new
design for a jointer fence, bismeyer-inspired, attached only on the
right with a heavy sliding trunnion.
since at $260 its more than $100 cheaper than the grizzley, in its newer
polished version it might be competitive.
